What's in store for 2011

BarCamp-style Sessions
UPA is planning to pilot a lively BarCamp-style session at the 2011 conference to reflect the social change. You, the conference attendee can deliver an 8 minute talk on a topic related to usability from any perspective without commercial motives. You determine the topic, format your session, and propose it. Proposals will be voted on by conference attendees and the top 12 highest voted topics get the chance to present. All proposals, voting, and presentations happen right at the conference on Thursday, June 23. It will be fun, exciting and unpredictable!! For more details, visit the Unconference page.

Great networking:
2011 will be one of the most social UPA International Conferences ever. We will organise a whole program of events and activities to help you meet others with the same interest and expand your professional network. This will include city tours, dining and an unprecedented amount of activity on social networks.

Early registration & other dates:
We will open registration in January 2011 to facilitate early planning for travellers and employee/employer planning. See key dates for submissions and conference program notices.

Travel advice: Wherever in the world you are travelling from our International Liaison committee can help you with advice about travel options and visas. Atlanta is a major airline hub, with hundreds of options per day.
Help and advice:

Advanced Practitioners: Due to ongoing demand for expert content the 2011 conference will seek to deliver a wider range of advanced material for experienced practitioners to inspire, engage and challenge our ever growing experienced audience. These sessions will be highly interactive and participatory and integrated within the main conference program.

Usability Fundamentals: We also acknowledge the special place of attendees that are new to the conference and the field, and will provide a 'usability fundamentals' program including a range of sessions aimed at providing a series of primers in the basics of usability practice, theory, and training.
