Poster #15: The Use of Minimalist Training in Usability Testing
by Billy R. Lyons & Juliet Richardson, Convergys Corporation
Carroll’s (1990) “minimal manual” concept was employed in training
designed to give usability test participants the conceptual knowledge
needed to complete complex tasks using a novel user interface The data
demonstrates that users could learn to achieve these tasks after only
minimal training on the theoretical concepts behind the interface.
