Newcomers' Reception

If you are new to the UPA conference, join us for a newcomers’ reception on Tuesday, June 24, from 5:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. prior to the opening reception. UPA conference committee and board members will be there to greet you and answer questions.

Opening Reception (with posters)

As always, we’ll have an opening reception to kick off our annual conference. Sample the variety of cuisine while greeting old friends and meeting new ones. You will also be treated to late-breaking results in our poster session. Presenters will be there to discuss their posters with you in this informal setting.

Thursday Dinner Gala and Entertainment

Thursday, June 26

Dinner Thursday night will be at the Arizona Science Center. UPA will provide transportation to the Science Center, and will allow time after dinner to explore the exhibits. Extra tickets will be available with registration.

The Arizona Science Center is a place of fun and adventure for all ages! Occupying 120,000 square feet, the Center contains four levels of more than 300 exciting “hands-on” exhibits, a state-of-the-art planetarium, and a five-story giant-screen theatre dedicated to the advancement of science education. The Center highlights science and technology from an Arizona perspective-showcasing Arizona talents and achievements.

The Closing Reception will follow immediately after the Closing Plenary, and will include a light lunch. It’s a last chance to catch up with people you’ve been meaning to talk to all week, and to say goodbye to new friends and colleagues.
