Description
For this new format, the person who submits the proposal selects a session theme, such as "Usability Facilitators" or "Best Practices for Remote Evaluation," and organizes a group of five speakers who will each present their unique perspective on the theme in 10 minutes or less.
During the session, the proposal submitter serves as the moderator, which entails introducing the session, acting as timekeeper for the 10-minute talks, and engaging the audience in a discussion after all talks are complete. In addition, the proposal submitter can chose to share their own "nuggets of wisdom" during one of the five time slots.
The goals of the 10-minute talks are to:
  1. Provide easily digestible nuggets of practical advice or wisdom that audience members will find memorable.
  2. Allows number of different points of view and topics in a single session.
  3. Provide a forum where speakers must eliminate all fluff (long introductions for example) from the presentations and focus on key points
  4. Provide a forum for new presenters to hone their skills for lengthier presentations at subsequent conferences.
Duration
90 minutes total. Each speaker will have 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions and discussion. The last 10-15 minutes of the session are used for general questions.
