Google was designed for the job of finding information, not for a "search demographic." Dans le cadre du travail qui a permis à Procter & Gambles de connaître le succès du Swiffer, l’élément d’analyse utilisé fut la tâche de nettoyer les planchers, et non une étude démographique ou psychographique de personnes qui vadrouillent.

"Pierre Omidyar hat eBay nicht wegen der psychografischen Merkmale der Nutzergruppe "Auktionäre" gestaltet. Er hat eBay gegründet, um den Leuten zu helfen, ihre persönlichen Sachen zu verkaufen. Google wurde gestaltet, um die Informationssuche zu ermöglichen, nicht für die Bestimmung der demografischen Merkmale der Nutzergruppe "Suchende".
